Tales of Triumph From An Underdog from Just For Pets & Brand Savvy
In 2013 Just for Pets faced a battle for survival as six of its seventy five members closed due to aggressive corporate competitors.
A free educational six-point health check was implemented which extended their target audience from business to consumers, and demonstrated the value of support to local independent pet stores, driving traffic and almost doubling basket sales.
No Just for Pets stores have closed since and this initiative has ensured Just for Pets thrive and continue to inspire the industry, let’s take a closer look at this campaign.
2015 Sir Charles McGrath Award Winner - Launa Inman
Launa is currently the Non-Executive Director at Bellamy's Australia, as well as Non-Executive Director at Commonwealth Bank.
Launa Inman has served as the first female Managing Director of Wesfarmers Limited Target Australia division. Repositioning the company to become the most successful mid-market retailer and an iconic Australian brand, Launa was the first to introduce fashion democratisation into Australian retail by introducing designers such as Stella McCartney, Collette Dinnigan and Zac Posen.
Recognised as an accomplished business women across the fields of marketing, Launa sits on several industry and charity boards including the Melbourne Fashion Festival, and the Alannah and Madeline Foundation (a national charity protecting children from violence).
Launa's vision, strategic direction and dedicated time contributed to charitable causes were considered when bestowing this prestigious award.
2015 Certified Practising Marketer of the Year - Caroline Patrick
Caroline began her marketing career with Lloyds TSB in 1998, thereafter joining Bedford Industries in Adelaide as Marketing & Promotions Manager in 2002.
Caroline joined Bendigo and Adelaide Bank as Head of Marketing, Wealth and Third Party Banking in 2009. In 2014 she was appointed Head of Strategic Marketing Solutions as part of the Group Marketing and Communications Leadership team responsible for developing and implementing Bendigo and Adelaide Bank's Marketing Strategy.
In addition to her successful career, Caroline dedicates time towards initiatives for Children and Human Rights, Disaster and Humanitarian Relief. More specifically she is a Board Member and Chair to SCOSA and is closely involved with Time for Kids as a Respite Carer, and an Amnesty International Human Rights Defender.
Caroline is an Associate Member and Certified Practising Marketer of the Australian Marketing Institute.

Gina’s career started with her prior commencing
her studies in Psychology at Boston University in 2004, when she received an
email inviting her to test out 'The Facebook' as a new university
communications tool, and has been hooked on social media since.
Now the Founder & Managing Director of
L&A Social Media, a boutique social media and marketing agency, Gina
launched L&A with the sole motto of adding value - to users, to clients and
to her team.
Gina's key personal achievements to date
include; Finalist for the 2013 Telstra Business NSW Women's Awards and the 30
under 30 B&T Specialist Awards Winner of 2015.
