The National Capital Attractions Association (NCAA) represents tourist attractions within Canberra and the surrounding region. With more than 45 organisations as members, our mission is to collaboratively promote the national capital’s attractions and provide a forum for information sharing, discussing issues and networking. We are active in lobbying for the sector with government and other bodies, as well as promoting the national attractions through events, promotion, and publications.
We are seeking a Marketing and Communications Officer. Their responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a marketing plan for the National Capital Passport to generate revenue.
- Coordinating participation in tourism activities such as travel trade shows and ACT Tourism events. This may include attending the events.
- Assisting in reviewing advertising opportunities, writing copy for advertisements, media releases and websites, including social media.
- Representing the NCAA at marketing events within the tourism industry of Canberra and the region.
- Providing marketing administration support to the executive committee.
The right candidate will be/have:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Canberra and region tourism industry.
- Experience in the marketing and communications field.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
- Can do attitude and proactive approach.
This is a contract opportunity for a period of 12 months, with a maximum fee of $20,000 (GST inclusive). The contractor will report to the NCAA President and will receive guidance from the executive committee. It is expected the contractor will work approximately eight hours per week.
