The AMI Victoria Council has five subcommittees that aim to improve our ability to focus and deliver both value and activities for our members. They comprise two councillors and 4-6 members who aim to meet once a month to develop ideas and programs and then plan and be involved in the delivery. The committees report directly to the Council.
Membership Committee
Members: Bruce Croad, Yvonne Turner (councillors). Chintan Bharwada, Steve Worthington, Richard Falconer, Jeff Kerr-Bell.
Objectives:
- Maintain current membership
- Grow membership
- Reactivate lapsed membership
- Clearly define the value of membership
Key activities
- Manage membership profile
- Source up to date statistics from national database
- Understand who the members are and what are their needs
- Understand why marketers have not joined AMI and what needs are not met
- Understand the reason for membership churn
- Target non-members at events
- Develop process to target key influence makers
Career Development Committee
Members: Geoffrey Bowll, Michelle Brooks, Jenny Pham (councillors). David Krupp, Scott Barden, Andrew Baker, Duncan Buchanan, Paul White.
Objectives – Emerging Marketers
- Facilitator of transition between study and success
- Increase membership
- Gateway to professional recognition
- Develop strong relationships with education groups
- Job facilitation
- Improve the opportunity to make a $$
- Understand the needs through a mentoring process
Objectives – CPM
- Raise the profile of position
- Vital role if board position is sought
- Increase relationship with industry peers
- Proved critical industry market research
Key activities
- Mentoring programs and events
- Regular presence in higher education
- Development of alumni groupings to increase awareness
- Partnership with seek to provide job portal
- Provide job conditions and salary expectations
- Creative and more events
- Research other successful professional groups as to how they develop their senior people
Industry Body/Leadership Committee
Members: Roger Powell, Christine Walker, Adam Joseph (councillors). Robynne Berg, Chintan Bharwada, David Trott, James Atkins.
Objectives
- Develop a presence and position with other professional groups
- To become the thought leader on all things marketing
- To work with other the other states and national to develop a political profile
- To be seen as the go-to body for all aspect of marketing
Key activities
- Identify what can be the key attractors to AMI membership and activities
- Preparedness to address other groups on the importance of marketing
- Presentation kits for media release
- Presence at industry, government and community functions
- Promote the ethical position of professional marketing
- Develop market segment forum groups for key sectors to enable likeminded marketers to share ideas and thoughts on various issues
- Network, network, network
Communications Committee
Members: Jenny Beckman-Wong, Rowan Blyth, John Thompson (councillors). Martin Wells, Stephanie Clayton, Sarah Harris.
Objectives
- Develop a communication approach for each of the various segments
- Take control of communications going to Victorian AMI members
- Formalise a process and develop a protocol to ensure that it is not see as junk
- To complement the national communication program
- Make sure the policies are relevant to the times and the tools used are those that are in use within the segments
Key activities
- Manage the communication and information flow to members in Victoria
- Carry out a membership survey as to the type of preferred communication
- Plan a platform for each of the different segments
- Benchmark program against other outside membership-based organisations
- Support all other subcommittees and the Council with message delivery
Events (& Sponsorship) Committee
Members: Anthea Cherednichenko (councillor). Jennifer Trethewey (event manager). Dianne Gardiner, Alla Kaploun.
Objectives

- Minimum of a financial break even
- Cover all market business segments
- Offer tangible value for members
