How has Hawthorn Football Club sucessfully marketed itself to its members and why has Hawthorn’s growth been higher than other AFL clubs?
Join the Australian Marketing Institute and hear Stuart Fox, CEO of Hawthorn Football Club, share his insights into Hawthorn’s economic engines, the Tasmanian strategy and his leadership principles. Stuart was 2IC at the Geelong Football Club and made the transition to Hawthorn as CEO in September 2009.
Stuart's sports administration career began in 1995 in government working with the City of Greater Geelong as Recreation and Culture Manager for five years. In 2000, Stuart was recruited to Geelong Football Club as General Manager Commercial Operations and was quickly promoted to Chief Operating Officer, being part of two AFL premierships in 2007 and 2009.
Stuart also played a pivotal role in the revival of Geelong Football Club, driving enormous growth throughout the business and successfully managing two major stadium redevelopments valued at more than $60 million.
Stuart is a highly regarded sports administrator renowned for his value-based and results-focused leadership style.
