Becoming Engaged.... to your Stakeholders

Within Nikki’s 14 years of experience she has managed, owned and operated various event management and public relations companies. Nikki is currently with Rowland and is working with the Queensland Government, Brisbane City Council, Government-owned corporations and private sector companies overseeing projects and providing strategic advice. Nikki will look at he cost of ‘not engaging’ with stakeholders of your business is simply too high (politically, economically - in terms of poor community and project outcomes). Nikki will provide information to help you engage with stakeholders outside of the traditional bounds of market research and shareholders.

Previously Rob was Director of Sales for Australia and New Zealand at Premier Global Services and today xCommunication works as the exclusive agent for Premiere Global Services in the Queensland region. His national team of 27 marketers last year spent over $19M on getting face to face with customers for a return of more that $72M in new revenue. Ian began his career as a salesman where he developed the love of being measured on results and has carried that habit into marketing and has been a senior manager for over 10 years. With the aid of a recent Telstra success story, through participation marketing tactics, Ian will discuss this relatively new form of marketing and share some of their key success factors.

He considers himself an entrepreneur, strong leader and Marketing Strategist and has over 20 year of sales, marketing and management experience in the IT/Internet arena. His cross-section of the development of the internet in marketing, practical tools and case studies will combine to give you a thorough understanding of how the internet and your marketing strategies can work together to achieve your goals today and tomorrow.

Tim Flattery, Managing Director, Digital Artists
Media Consumption Shift

Prior to his appointment as General Manager of Digital Artists, Tim spent two years as head of new media and branded entertainment for Becker Entertainment working in the USA. In 2006 Tim also wrote a television special as a part of Tourism Australia’s 2006 advertising initiatives. In 1996 he launched the social forecasting and new media development firm Pophouse working with blue chip brands including Optus, Virgin, Fairfax and The Commonwealth Bank. His book Ideas Generation was published in 2001. As a Media Futures expert, Tim will be exploring the once-in-a-generation shift in media consumption that will have serious consequences for where and how you advertise in the future.

Rob joined George Patterson Y&R in December 2007 as Head of Digital for Brisbane. Rob has 14 years experience with planning and producing digital marketing and a diverse range of online content. Rob also spent 9 years as Director of New Media for LPGF.com, one of the UK’s leading digital agencies. Rob’s client experience extends across leading Australian and global brands including: Suncorp, Energex, Telstra, Queensland Rail, Stocklands, Rolls Royce, BMW, Honda, Fujifilm, Calvin Klein, Omega Watches & BBC. Rob will be presenting the topic of ‘key influencer’ and will discuss the importance of monitoring and targeting the right consumers within the online ecosystem, and applying the information successfully to the bands marketing mix.

Adam Johnson, Multimedia Marketing Manager, Nokia

Adam is responsible for the marketing activities of Nokia’s Multimedia business unit in Australia and New Zealand. This includes managing the Nokia Nseries sub-brand and Nokia Internet Services’ entire marketing mix and bringing Nokia’s expanding service offerings to life. Adam is also accountable for leading Nokia’s progressive global embrace of experiential based marketing strategies. His presentation will give significant and first hand advice on the importance of customer participation with technology brands through Nokia’s past and future initiatives.

Dimity Powell is currently the Client Strategist for the Austereo Network in the Brisbane Market. Her past positions include planner and media buyer for Global Media Group Mindshare, in Dublin, and O2Integration in Brisbane. Dimity is also current president of the Brisbane Advertising Association. Participation marketing has been occurring in the radio world for decades. Dimity will focus on how to listen to your customers and create a perfect platform for natural participation to occur with your brand.

Rob has 25 years experience in research and communications. Though moving to the dark side (advertising) early in his career, the roles were research/strategy based. After senior positions with McCann Erickson, Clemenger and Saatchi & Saatchi, he co-founded Bond Strohfeldt in 1990 with Grahame Bond (Aunty Jack). Robert will be discussing the use of events to create public participation while maintaining marketing goals.

Tony joined the ninemsn team after five successful years as Marketing Director at PepsiCo Australia, where he took part in the local innovation of leading trade marks such as Pepsi and Gatorade. In this competitive and fast paced environment Tony helped pioneer Pepsi’s outdoor media strategy and was at the forefront of re-positioning the Pepsi Max brand.

He has a wealth of international experience in advertising, specifically the psychology behind good copy, great ads, TV production and direct marketing. Zeynep is a qualified strategist and researcher with over twenty years experience in marketing and brand management and has held senior strategic positions with Heinz/Watties and Lend Lease. She currently holds the position of Company Director of Nine Dots Marketing Pty Ltd and has facilitated training programs for managers in Australia and the Asia Pacific and has acted as an advisor to many high profile blue-chip companies and advertising agencies. Since 1999, she has also lectured in Marketing Strategy and Operations at Macquarie University and in Economics at the University of Wollongong.
